Thursday 3rd DecemberAfter a restless night with little sleep due to excitement, the big day finally arrived! Our flight back to Manchester, England was on schedule and we arrived just in time to pick up our hire car in a huge shower of rain, so within a few minutes of arriving we were already soaking wet! Strangely, the car rental desk was on the 13th floor at the airport, meaning that it took us about half an hour to get out of the multi storey car park because we couldn’t see the miniscule EXIT signs! We battled our way through the heavy traffic and rain to the Fylde Coast and had the opportunity of visiting family and friends for the rest of the day. We ended up at the local pub quiz we used to attend each Thursday when we lived in England. On Friday morning, we made our way to Daniel and Nikki’s house where we all pretended it was Christmas Day! We had a wonderful meal (see the photo of the menu…it really was as delicious as it sounds….well done Daniel) and exchanged our presents. We went on to eat and drink too much and feel sleepy afterwards….typical Christmas really! We are driving back to stay at Manchester airport later tonight ready for our Saturday morning flight to London, and onwards to New York.
