We attended the Midnight Mass service at the Cathedral in Grafton City centre, which was a lovely way to see Christmas morning in. For Christmas lunch, as we were away from what we might have done traditionally, we chose to have seafood rather than turkey. So, it was barramundi fish and king prawns with a delicious mango, nut, chilli and red onion salsa. It was absolutely delicious. On Christmas afternoon, we were invited back to Des and Kay’s house to meet some of their family and friends, and to join in with their festive celebrations. One family member was Kay’s 95 year old father, Robbie, who has just returned from a 17 day cruise from Singapore, through Vietnam and back via Bali and northern Australia!
The whole family made us feel most welcome and everyone was very interested to learn about house-sitting, and where we live in Spain. All in all, it was a lovely day.
